A New Rebuilding Opportunity for Altadena Homeowners
Rebuilding after a wildfire is never simple. While many homeowners receive insurance payouts, FEMA assistance, or SBA loans, there is often a gap between what is available and what it actually costs to rebuild.
This partnership was created to help close that gap.
Through ALI’s nonprofit-backed initiative, qualifying homeowners can access funding designed to make rebuilding more attainable, without the burden of interest or immediate repayment.
At Genesis Builders, we’ve made it our mission to remove the uncertainty and delays from traditional rebuilding.
With:
- Pre-approved home designs
- Fixed pricing
- Clear timelines
We provide homeowners with a streamlined path to rebuilding, without the typical stress and unknowns.

Altadena is rebuilding, one home, one family, one step at a time. This partnership represents more than funding; it represents a new path forward.
About the Altadena Land Initiative
The Altadena Land Initiative is a 501(c)(3) California nonprofit public benefit corporation created with a clear mission: rebuilding homes and preserving community. ALI exists to ensure that Altadena families are not forced out of the neighborhood they call home because of a rebuilding funding gap beyond their control.
Rather than acting as a lender directly, ALI coordinates interest-free gap financing through a qualified lending partner. What sets the program apart is its structure. Repayment is aligned with future recovery, tied to legal settlement proceeds, a sale, or a refinance, rather than monthly cash flow. That means homeowners can move forward with their rebuild without the burden of monthly payments while they are still recovering.
ALI also provides coordinated rebuild support that goes beyond financing, offering guidance across insurance review, rebuild cost analysis, and connections to trusted builders and financing partners, all centered on the homeowner. As co-founder Ursula Hyman puts it, the goal is to help families move forward with dignity, stability, and a clear path back home.
